"A NETTLESTONE man is combining a holiday in Turkey with having dental work carried out and saving himself at least 1500 pound into the bargain. Pensioner Arnold Gifford was told by a private dentist here that he needed nine crowns at a cost of 350 pound to 500 pound each. On the NHS he would be charged around 200 pound for each crown.Horrified at the prices, Mr. Gifford, who was accustomed to travelling extensively overseas while working for Temperature in lake, decided to trawl the internet. He found a website specialising in dentaltrips to Turkey and he is now getting all the work done for less than 1000 pound after faxing the paperwork explaining what is required to a dentist in Turkey. Batchelor Mr. Gifford, 75, will set off to Turkey on September 19, having paid 700 pound for two weeks holiday in a good hotel in Side, 30 minutes from the dentist in Serik. Part of the deal is that the surgery will be sending a car and an interpreter to pick him up from th hotel each time he goes for treatment. He said:"Since I was a small boy I have had to worry about my teeth. Now I am 75 and retired and although I am not on benefits, it is still a job to live. To ask 350 pound plus a time for a crown is a lot of money, especially when you are on a pension,"said Mr. Gifford. The website he used was www.dentaltrips.com. "

"They were all so friendly and happy working together. They had the"IW county press" story about me going out there stuck on the wall. While i was there, there were patients coming from Germany, Amsterdam and the United States. I would recommend it to anyone. I could not fault the treatment, it was better than anything I have had here " said Mr Gifford, 75 of Nettlestone. The work cost Mr. Giffordt about
2600 pound instead of more than 8000 pound which it could have cost in this country. The day after I got back even got a phone call from the dentist to see if I was OK ," said Mr. Gifford".

"Brigitte, 44 ans, a des dents « pourries » et un salaire de chauffeur routier. Son dentiste français ne lui a laissé aucun espoir, estimant les travaux à « 15 plaques, rien que pour le haut ! ». Elle s'est donc tournée vers Internet. De forums en sites médicaux, elle est entrée en contact avec une société néerlandaise, Voyagesdentaire.eu (sic), tour-opérateur d'un genre nouveau : au lieu de vous envoyer dans un lieu de villégiature, et de vous vanter la taille de la piscine, il réserve votre place dans une clinique dentaire, en exhibant le CV et la photo du dentiste au beau milieu d'un cabinet rutilant."
"Brigitte a sauté le pas : en deux voyages de cinq jours chacun, elle s'est fait poser 8 implants et 14 couronnes, pour 8 000 euros. « J'ai emprunté la moitié à un organisme de crédit. Je ne regrette rien, ça m'a changé la vie."
"Voyagesdentaire existe depuis trois ans. Son créateur, M. T., est arrivé au tourisme médical presque par hasard : « Au début, je me suis contenté d'aider des amis à organiser leur voyage vers la Turquie. Comme j'y passais mes vacances, je savais que les dentistes y étaient aussi bons qu'aux Pays-Bas, mais bien moins chers. » Certes, prendre un charter pour aller chez le dentiste ne va pas de soi et suppose de surmonter quelques appréhensions. Mais le calcul est vite fait. Se faire poser une couronne en Europe revient au bas mot à 700 euros. En France, la Sécurité sociale, bonne fille, ne rembourse que 75 euros. La couronne de même qualité posée en Turquie revient à 170 euros. Le succès a donc été immédiat : en trois ans, M. a traité 1 000 patients, dont la moitié de Français. Et, selon lui, la demande ne cesse d'augmenter."
"Visiblement, les Français n'en ont cure. Menouar, qui est, selon ses propres termes, « le pire client possible », et « méfiant de nature », n'a pas eu à regretter son choix. D'origine libanaise, Menouar vit à Neuilly, mais il est chanteur de charme six mois par an au Mexique : son sourire est donc son outil de travail et nécessitait quelques investissements lourds : « Quatre dents à arracher, un kyste à enlever, une greffe osseuse et de gencive, quatre implants, les bridges, les vingt-huit couronnes, le tout m'est revenu en Turquie à 11 000 euros. En France, les devis variaient de 40 000 à 60 000 euros ! "
